Description

This unique coffee grows on the side of Mount Elgon in eastern Uganda, one of Africa’s oldest volcanos.  Coffee beans in this area are known as the Ugandan Organic Bugisu.  In the picturesque Sipi Valley, small family farms raise the cherries that are processed into what we offer as the Sipi Falls Mist coffee.

Sipi Falls coffee has been evolving over the past 25 years as more small farmers come together to share sustainable farming practices. Currently the various coffee collection and processing organizations have banded together as many as 8000+ farms to help bring these crops to market.  Smallholder farmers (generally smaller than 1 acre in size) are invested in taking great care in selecting the cherries of these plants at their peak which ensures that the best quality beans make it into this product.  This dedication continues into their local communities.

Our notes on this smooth and clean cup include its exciting, complex flavors which include a mix of citrus and floral notes with balanced and subtle cocoa undertones.  These flavors will make Sipi Valley a favorite with those who appreciate complexity and fullness in their brew.

Sipi Valley Mist is more than coffee — it’s an essence of the rich landscapes and vibrant culture in Uganda. Each cup is a small taste of Sipi Valley’s natural beauty. Each cup, pot, carafe represents the hard work of the farmers who cultivate this exceptional coffee.
